Which year? O2 sensors
Replacing the O2 sensors on my Jeep, a 96' XJ 4.0L. As we all know 96' was a weird year for parts. I've had to buy a 97' Coolant temp sensor and a 97' Transfercase bearing because 96' wouldn't fit.
I've decided on NTK O2 sensors, but am unsure of whether to order them for a 96 or a 97. They have different part numbers |

Here are the NTK/NGK #'s listed under 1996 for my Sept built '96:

It's got 8/28/96 on my build sheet and both my O2 sensors are listed for 1996 models. If buying local take your old part/parts with you if possible. Had mine for 10yrs now and it being a '96 hasn't been a big issue. Had one of the two sensors I needed for a gauge panel swap need to be for a '97.
