? for ya all on gas tank recall on grand cherokees
ok so does that go for our Cherokees as well do we have a fire hazard recall ? or is it just the grand Cherokee and liberty ?

So far I haven't heard anything about the XJ being affected by this. It is likely that the leaf-springs and rear-shackles provide just enough protection that it isn't an issue on the XJ, The Grand Cherokee and Liberty having coil-springs have no suspension/frame components behind/below the fuel tank to protect them from an under-riding vehicle (unless equipped with the"optional" skid-plate or hitch).
That being said I highly doubt that even the Grand Cherokees (ZJ/WJ) or Libertys(KJ) will be recalled since the vehicles met the safety standards in place when they were produced and the NHTSA is trying to apply current standards that didn't go into effect until 2008 retroactively. Chrysler is fighting this and will likely win (and rightfully so).

Jeep says there will be no recall even though the Federal Government is pushing for it but can't make them because of the bankruptcy/bailout back in '08 or whatever year that happened.
They are immune from ANY lawsuits that could arise from any vehicle produced before the bailout.
