XJ Lift????
So im new here but im apart of jeepforum.com. A Question i had specifically for CF was whether or not i should lift my XJ. Its a DD and has a 166,XXX. If anything i wanna get chevy shackles and level the rear end or buy the Rough Country shackles. Need some ideas. Also on a budget considering I'm in school.
Thanks

i do plan on taking it on the trails. but i was told from a friend thats had 5 jeeps all lifted and stuff there is no challenge if you do all of that. he said just make it sit level. skid it. winch. and the biggest tire i can fit. he said its more fun that way and makes it really challenging.

OP- get a 2" lift by coil spacers and shackles. As long as your leafs are in ok shape that should yeilded you a good riding and decently capable XJ. Throw on a 1" TC drop or a TC skid to help the driveline angles and you're set.
Good shocks are really the key to a good ride. Don't skimp on them if DD it.

Terraflex BB - $130, could'nt get leaf mount bolts off, said screw it and bought 1 1/2 inch blocks from JC Whitney - $35.
Idiots sent U-bolts that were too short, off to NAPA for 4 new U-bolts - $40
Total cost - $205
Actually I sold the shackles for $40 so the net cost was $165, but still.

if you plan on taking it on some trails i might add that you can ditch the sway bars or get discos for the front one and ditch the rear one all together hope that helps
