Default XJ Issues.....HELP!!!

I have been trying to fix the issues with my xj for a week now but with no success. I bought this 1994 xj with a bad cylinder head and had the head rebuilt and I replaced it. Since then I have had a problem with it stalling when I slow down. It runs fine with throttle but will sometimes stumble and stall when coming to a stop. I've replaced cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, iac, cps and battery. Still does it. Also it has started to overheat even though the coolant is full when I check it and it has a new thermostat. The coolant shouldn't be full because I drained a good amount when removing the radiator hoses to replace the head but every time I've checked it it appears full. My temp gauge also doesn't work even after replacing the temp sensor and the gauge itself. I've about had it with this thing. Can anyone help she'd some light on my problems? Thanks

Haven't ran any codes. I don't have the scanner and neither did the parts store. They scan obd 2 only.

Dont need to be on to store soft codes . And dont need a scanner . Do this write down the codes . Then remove battery cable for 15 minutes . Reconnect cable start jeep let it run then rescan . If no codes show up that tells you its not something computer controlled ...

Your gauge is powered by the temp sender drivers side rear of cyl head. Not the one on thermostat housing. Have you cleaned the throttle body where the iac rests and where the butterfly seats ?

I don't see the wire that connects to that sensor near the back of the head. The sensor is there but nothing is connected to it and I see nothing that looks like it would connect to it.
