Xj engine troubles kinda

So iv searched for days now, iv got a problem that I’m having hard time with, my Jeep starts reliably and runs just fine for as long as I want it to, now when you turn it off after done wheeling or when it gets up to heat it cranks but won’t start … let it cool down, starts everytime and will run for days I have changed CPS already and I’m not trying to spend a ton I need help on ideas

We need an idea also. Like the year? Some pretty sharp guys here that are willing to help, but they need to know things like year etc.

And I would like to know what brand CPS you used.

My bad

99 Jeep Xj sport, 4.0, 4wd

my buddy put the sensor in for me idk the brand

The symptom of it stalling when it hits operating temperature and not starting till it cools down kind of sounds like CPS thermal failure.
But then you say after that it runs for days so not so much concerning that.
The reason I wanted to know about the brand of the CPS is cause it matters.
Can't even begin to tell you how bad out of the box threads for the aftermarket CPS there is on this forum.
When it comes to that you buy a Mopar one.

Thank y’all but I finally found it, it was the ignition coil (one of the hardest pos parts iv ever changed in my life)

cruiser54 07-18-2021 10:56 PM

What's the brand name on the coil you removed?

funkmasterflex 07-19-2021 12:37 AM

Carquest

Just out of interest (but also because otherwise this is another thread that just starts and ends and has nothing in between and wouldnt help anyone in the future):

how did you come to find out that it was the ignition coil?

Because the process of diagnostics is what helps others on the way with similar problems ;)

Carquest. Made in China?
