Default XJ Charging System Problems

So I have a 93 Cherokee 4.0 5spd. Bought it 4 months back. Was running fine...until the battery died. So I replaced the battery...and it eventually died again. So I replaced the alternator, recharged and tested the battery...and it died again. Got a charging system tester and battery volts were ok at around 12.2 ish but the amps were low between 400-600. And the volts on the alternator were around 12 aswell which is low because I know normally it should be around 14.4 volts. I know my alternator is ok because I also seperately had that tested. And I also removed the aftermarket stereo system that was on the car and capped all the exposed wires I could find and checked to see if there were any lights stuck on in and out of the car and there are none. SO.....before I start checking the volts on EVERY wire and ground on the Jeep, my question is, are there any common problems with this model Cherokee that could be causing this charging problem on my Jeep that anybody may know of??? Also, my Cherokee has an aftermarket horn on it, could this possibly be the source of my problem? Your input is greatly needed! THANKS

Not sure on that year, but it sounds like you have a short draining the battery.

hahaha ya don't know how to delete posts. Hmmm external voltage regulator? Sounds easy enough, although I dont remember seing any green or blue wires...I guess Im gonna have to take a closer look into the wiring.

Anybody else have any insight into this problem??? Looking for a quick fix!
