My wife’s Mazda CX-7 does this to me. Since I’m taller than her I’m constantly moving the seat back when I drive. I think it’s more the loose nut behind the wheel though. I don’t make sure it locks into the next groove and end up between adjustment positions. I always find out at the stop sign a block from our house. Lmao

My other half does that when she rides with me (wont drive any of my cars since they are all manual trans). She is short too so she always scoots the seat up. Not once will she make sure it locks back in place. Once I get to the bottom of the street and hit the brakes, POP!

Instrument panel is dead, and I can’t trace problem. Fuses are good. All over this forum people keep writing one should “clean the contacts behind the cluster” and I cant figure out what they mean. There are two connectors on my (96) cluster: a long white one on the left and another squarish plug near the center. I have cleaned those, put dielectric grease on them and made sure they’re snapped in tight. Are there other contacts or grounds? All the other surfaces seem to be plastic. What am I missing? I can see two silver points at the back of the bay the cluster goes into, upper left, that could be contacts, but I don’t see any correlating contacts on the cluster.

I am new to the Forum. I tried to do a quick search for help with the issues I'm having but came up short. I installed a meyer plow onto my cherokee....just using it to plow my 1/4 long driveway.....I live in CT. After driving it for a couple weeks with the plow mounts & wiring finished, it now will not start. The battery is good & I replaced the terminals. It has power when I put the key in the ignition-the power windows work, the radio etc. When I go to turn the key to start it, there is nothing.....no power to the starter at all......the motor doesn't turn over, nothing. A friend told me to put the key in the ignition and turn the blower motor for heat/ac to full blast and listen to see if the blower motor shuts off when I turn the key to go to start the jeep.....the blower motor turns off when I go to turn the key to start it. So, it can't be an ignition switch issues, right? Is this just as simple as installing a new starter?? It's getting cold here and we can get snow anyday now so I need to get this rectified quickly! Any help anyone can provide is greatly appreciated! The Jeep is super clean-it came from FL. No rust/rot at all. Super clean I love it but this little issue is driving me crazy!

Do you hear an audible "click" sound at all? Could have a bad lead at/near the starter or ignition switch.... or most commonly, just worn out contacts in the starter itself.
Since all other components are working correctly in the accessory position in the "on" position in the ignition.

Simplest test first:
Locate the PDC (fuse box) under the hood. Swap the Starter Relay for another relay of the same type that runs something non-critical (such as the A/C, if it's the same style relay). Try again.

This free test will determine whether or not the relay has failed, which would the cheapest possible fix.

Sounds like over time your alternator might not be charging long enough each time to keep up with the additional load you added, and it is slowly running down the battery because it isn't getting fully charged again each time you use it?

I’m not much into mud and water and definitely don’t like high water crossings but I was wondering, there is a fuse box in the passenger floor board that is very low and susceptible to getting water in it at a modest amount of water inside the Jeep. Anybody had problems or experienced this?

I'd also suggest removing your battery connectors, clean them and the terminals, and reattach them securely.

A bad/dirty battery connection also causes what you are experiencing.
