Dude you have a huge rat nest going on there. That is a lot of wrong in one picture. Like all wrong. My suggestion, redo it all. It sucks that the PO cut off the factory plug but it is what it is. Just do one wire at a time so things dont get mixed up. Dont use electrical tape. Use a crimp style connector instead.

Looking at this pic is literally making me want to dig the skin off my own face using my fingernails that I just trimmed down to nothing.

As was said, just re-do it all. Go to the junkyard and clip off the OEM wiring harness for the stereo, solder and shrink tube all the connections back, then get a METRA harness and solder and shrink those connections to the connector that plugs into your aftermarket head unit.

I would also redo those connections for the driver's side door speaker. It looks like there's bare wire showing and that will make contact with metal inside the door and short out the connection.

Thanks. That’s kinda what I was thinking I probably would have to do but I just wanted some other opinions. Also would you or any one else happen to know a good link to use as like a key for what wire goes where?

The Metra harnesses are generally pretty good about color-keying the wires from their harness to the same color of the OEM harnesses. But it's always good to verify.

Reposting this hear in hopes of getting a quick response.

I over torqued my head bolts by about 20ft/lbs. I already backed them out. What I've been able to find suggests that I need to replace the bolts. Do I also need to replace the new gasket that I just installed?

Ok, so the vacuum sphere in the bumper's hose came off it fitting in the engine bay. Where does this hose go to and what does the fitting look like?

So with the XJ running and in park or neutral everything is good, if I shift into drive and stay stopped with the brake their is a rattle that comes from underneath, is this my U joint or what?

That's usually a symptom of the exhaust system being loose and contacting something it shouldn't be touching.

Ujoints and hubs only make noise when they're rotating
