Hood Issues
If this has been answered in another thread, I do apologize. I have a 97 XJ Sport and my hood sits too high. It is not flush with the nose when I close it. Opens and closes just fine, checked the springs and the rubber stopped in the center, but it won't lower the hood height.
Anything else I can do to fix this issue? It sits about a quarter-inch too high.
Thanks,
DC

My uncle just wired in a new fuse panel, and switch over to electric windows and locks. after doing so the oil pressure gauge stopped working it holds steady at 15.used to hold at 80. The fuel gauge doesn't work (it stopped after an engine rebuild), it was stuck at 1/4 but now its way past full. And the battery doesn't hold a charge. He took the wires and put them on the same place on the new one. Mine is an 87. The one we used is slighter newer. Instead of it being labeled it's numbered. And I don't know if it matters that all the wires aren't in since the front passenger window wouldn't go up, so he's chasing the problem with it out of the car and the wires for both front windows and locks aren't hooked up. Now I realize there's many possibilities with all the wiring that was done. But is there anyway to narrow the problem down or did I just get myself in a deep hole? The battery and alternator are both less than 7 months old.
And as for why i let him rewire it, he used to be an electrician who turned mechanic, so I figured he'd be more than capable…

2000 XJ Fed Emissions 4.0L Automatic 215k miles
Hey guys I really need some help here. I've been fighting a multiple cylinder misfire and I have 2 months to get this fixed so that I can pass emissions. It randomly shows different cylinders. It could be cylinder 5 and 6 or it can be 1,2, 4, 5, or 6. Sometimes when it throws the codes its just 5 or just 6 other times it shows all of them except for cylinder 3.
What I've done:
Checked grounds, replaced CPS, TPS, coil rail, spark plugs, O2 sensors, injectors, cleaned the throttle body and the IAC valve and checked for vacuum leaks. All parts that have been replaced are Mopar. I've not yet done a compression test but the engine doesn't actually misfire. It runs as smooth as glass. There is no sputtering, rough idle, hard starts, and it can happen at anytime sitting parked or doing 80 mph or 6 mph. I do know that it only happens after the engine has warmed up. I have been using the Torque app for codes. Here is the codes I got this morning after driving 24 miles into work and then parked idling in the work parking lot. I have ordered the Chrysler Combustion Chamber cleaner for my next step. Could the catalytic converter cause this issue?
Torque Codes:
Current Fault Log
------------------
P0300: Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
Pending Fault Log
------------------
P0301: Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0302: Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0305: Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
P0306: Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

In the mean time, you can check your oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to know what it really is.
For the XJ, oil pressure should be no less than 13psi at hot idle, and anywhere from 37 to 75 psi above 1600 rpm.

Well it sounds like something got crossed somewhere if these changes only happened after the wiring your uncle did.

What are you running for plugs? Are you running the heat shield on top of the intake manifold? I run cheap copper top Champions and do have the heat shield in my '00 with CA emissions. Never had a problem. If not go buy it and see what happens. Pretty sure the part # is CBXCB060. Try not to pay the $10 that places online want. My Jeep Dealership had it in stock and I paid $3. Or maybe try this: More pricey and really more of a heat soak issue remedy but.......
