XJ air condition issue

Hi

How are you guys.I have learnt many things from this forum thanks for it.

My xj has this issue with its air condition,it doesnt cool well moreover when it runs on highway it does cool a little, but as soon as i get in town or traffic it starts blowing hot air and the temp increases a little bit.

I have a 99 xj with 4.0 with ax15 transmission

Now I have replaced the condenser, 3 core radiator, fan clutch and did a flush as well.

I am thinking of replacing the compresser and ac ccumulator. But I am just confused as to what I do next amd whether this move is good or not or there is some other issue with it.

Also I have added a thermostat of 195.I live in dubai and the temp in summer rises to 45 degree celsius.should i stay with 195 or go with 160?

Please help me as this ac problem is getting on my nerve

You should first see if you have pressure in the system and the compressor is kicking on. You said you put in a new condenser, did you replace anything else at that time? I would say it probably needs new o rings, schrader valve cores, liquid line (with orifice tube) and an accumulator. Could have a bad compressor shaft seal too but I wouldn't start throwing parts in without checking things first.

A/C needs to be recharged with a proper machine by weight, not by pressure.

Also, was the system taken down to deep vacuum before recharging? Are your fan shrouds intact?

wait.. what do you mean by this. Can you explain a little further?

The compressor do kick on and its clutch also moves, apart from changing condenser i changed the o rings and nothing else.

When i took to refill the ac gas, the technician said the compressor is taking little pressure and thats it and i took to many shops and they are also confused.

Speaking of fan shroud it is intact and is in good shape and i have added two extra set of efans which starts when ac starts and all the gas was throughly removed

When you pop the hood, it'll say how much refrigerant it needs, like 1.5 pounds. Which would be 24 ounces. Could also be in grams, so 680 grams.

You shouldnt fill fill up an A/C system with just gauges until it "looks good and full"

Well, if it has the correct amount of refrigerant in it and it hasn't leaked out my first guess would be a plugged up orifice tube. After that it could be the accumulator. And if it isn't either of those that just leaves the compressor.

First, I would have someone check the high and low side pressures when the system is operating. Take a look at this link for the correct pressures and possible culprits when there is an issue, http://acprocold.com/faq/r-134a-system-pressure-chart/.

Again, not worth throwing in parts until you know whats actually going on. Compressors are expensive.
