Default Won't Crank

It will turn over, but not start. Have good battery, new Bosch fuel pump, good alternator, coil tests good, new plugs, wires, cap, TB sensors... Almost everything was replaced less than a year ago including an engine rebuild. Although battery tests good, it quickly drains when trying to crank. Swapped it with another known good battery & still wouldn't crank.

Before replacing the CPS, try isolating the cause between fuel and spark. Start with a couple of sprays of a starting fluid in the throttle body and see if runs for a few seconds. You can also pull a plug wire and hold it against a good ground while cranking and check for spark. A no spark condition, assuming fuses are good, will give you more confidence you have a bad CPS.

Edit: Need confirmation from someone on no spark = bad CPS

How? Load test or just static voltage alone?

I thought a bad CPS would cause a no spark condition...
Could someone please verify this?

We hooked up a thingy between a spark plug & the spark plug wire that lit up when spark was present, so it's getting spark. Battery problem was explained to a parts store & then tested at 100%. I then used a battery from an '01 Wrangler just to make sure the battery wasn't the problem. I'll test the CPS shortly.

See if it cranks in neutral.

My '98 wouldn't start in park but would in neutral.

What year? Also if your getting spark spray some starting fluid in her and see if it tickles her fancy. If so, fuel delivery is the issue. Second, I'm sure you said something Bout coil packs? Is this a 00+?

Edit: went back, re read OP, check timing. Index the dizzy
