Wiring harness question
I have a 1999 Cherokee Sport. I am troubleshooting a problem with my remote door locks. Where does the wiring harness from the dome lamp go to? I can lock the doors with the key fob, but not unlock. Dome lamp comes on but no relay click. Thanks. Door switches work properly. Thanks.

Dome lamp wiring runs down the passenger side A-pillar, IIRC.
First thing i would do is pop open the key fob. Mine acted up when i got it. Intermittent lock/unlock, but the key worked fine. Went to replace the battery and the button contacts were filthy. Cleaned those off with some rubbing alcohol. Replaced the battery while i was in there and the locks worked just fine afterwards. You say the door switches work so my guess is the key fob itself, or something is up with the RKE transmitter. Could be the wiring, but i would save that for last. Easy stuff first.

Just found your other thread.
I thought i read somewhere that the RKE needs to be programmed to the vehicle when swapping one to another to work properly. Cant remember where i read it at the moment tho. Not sure if thats your issue or not, but with the way XJs were wired, it wouldnt surprise me.
