wiring diagram...ignition
Hello everyone!
I searched and could not find the answer, so I shall ask you Guru's! 94 XJ Sport / 4.0 / Auto 2WD :brickwall: I need a breakdown of the ignition wiring... ie.. color / function. I have some things not working, and have traced the problem to the ign. switch, so I'm installing my own switch system. Thanks! Rovin. |
Ignition switch is pretty easy to replace it is on the steering column at the base under the dash. Just unbolt the column and drop it down for easy access. The box on top of the column that you see is the actual switch and the key is controlled via a rod.

does anybody have wiring color code & diagram for the ignition switch itself for and 88 xj?' I have most of the FSM. And cant for the life of me find a diagram of the ignition switch itself (one on the column) I want to test if I have a bad ignition switch by putting in a push button start. My Cherokee starts then stalls after cpl seconds. I lose spark and injectors ater a cpl seconds of it firing over. It will start and stall all day. I have changed every part imaginable, and tested from FSM all my sensors and what I didn't change. Only thing left is the ecu and ignition switch.
Yess.. I did the cps, and the cps wire harness bypass recall.... as well as added many grounds, larger) and cleaned all connections... I did all of the renix bug fixes and want to just try running a push button and toggle switch to try and start this thing and see if its the problem... Thanks.. If you don't want to post it because then it would be easy for thieves to find on google. please email it to me at justinjeepcobra@yahoo.com I have the FSM, and paid a lot of money for it, and I have all of the diagrams above but cant seem to find the one for the ignition switch itself. I just want to get my ole' 88 going again, Its been almost a year.. Im tired of driving my big'pig'6"locked linked- 95'. wanna drive something somewhat stock to work everyday again. lol |
