Hi, I'm having an issue I was hoping I could get some help with. I'm doing a 91 HO engine + harness swap from my old cherokee into a comanche I bought some time ago. I've got most of the vitals finished but I'm currently not getting any spark. While searching for any wires unplugged I may have missed, I noticed the one in the picture I've attached. It was hanging between the alternator and ignition coil. I searched around for where it could go and found nothing, so I stuck my test light in it to see if it was always hot, switched, or cranking/run power. And when I tried cranking, I had combustion! So this wire must be a ground of some sort? I took pictures of everything before it came apart, and although I can see this wire I cannot see where exactly it plugs into sadly.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

Oil pressure plug? Down below the oil filter?

Nope.. might be to your ac I have one similar to that, is is unplugged as I pulled my ac. Has one pin in the middle of it and hangs right behind my alternator.

My jeep never had AC, although it wouldn't surprise me if it still had the plug for it. But that wouldn't make sense as to why this plug would stop me from getting power to my ignition coil.

that "loose" connection also exists on my '96
when i asked my Jeep guru what it was, he said he did not know

I put a test light on it to see if it lit while cranking, which it did not

you would think it must have some purpose
