Wipers have got to be slowest I've ever seen!!
They work normally but this is my 1st XJ (88). Doesn't matter if its wet or dry. Are they known for slow wipers normally?

Go to the jy and get yourself a pulse module,it is located under the dash and has vlcro on it,all wiper and washer functions go through it,they are very cheap, they want about $70 for them at the autoparts.
If your wipers work in all settings, then it could also be the motor.

I'm sure mine are working normally and wiper motor seems okay. But on slow (I have no delay, mine is a very "Base Model") they take about 3 seconds to make a full cycle and about 2.5 seconds on high. This seems very slow.
I could always pull the motor and redo the windings to speed it up but that is such a PIA.
Any model Jeep wiper motors that are faster that I could swap into this?

Mine are fairly slow as well. Compared to other vehicles I have driven. I always thought it was the motor and am just waiting for it to crap out.

Try adding an additional ground wire from your negative battery terminal to the body as the wiper motor draws a fair bit of amperage compared to other items..
Renix XJs are notorious for poor grounding through the body. Never hurts to add an additional cable from where the braided POS is from the firewall to the rearmost bolt of the fuel injector rail either. Be sure to scrape the paint off under the mounting bolt on the firewall while you're at it.

i put a new motor on mine and its like night and day. I changed my motor once my blades started like skipping across the window. Almost as if they were pausing for less than a second.
