Wiper washer issues :-/
 

So this isnt to big of a deal, but its driving me nuts

So my rear wiper washer on my 99 stopped spraying the other day, and came back in and is now out again, since the wiper works, id like to keep this working too lol, and the front when sprayed has more of a whine to it than i remember, so my question is, does anyone know of a good place to start looking, or have a washer diagram of sorts?

I guess my big worry is the front will go out, which still isnt too big of a deal with warmer weather in the making, but it would be nice to prevent it from happening :)

The line isnt clogged, and its def not a fuse, because it wouldnt have came back in for a while like it did....so just curious as where to go

check to see if the motor is starting to go that sprays out the fluid.. should be on your firewall with the sprayer lines coming out.. the rear windsheild washer fluid runs along the drivers side bottom pannels where the door is .. that skinny panel... there will be a hose run from there eventually through the back seat side panels and reach the back to the lift gate and it will go up beside the wiper motor under the panel on the back lift gate.. maybe somethings in your lines.. the 2 things on your hood.. well right behind your hood where the spray comes out and hits the windshield might be clogged ive seen that happen before.. people get dirt in there wiper fluid and it clogs.. might be a clog in the line somewhere.. might be pinched.. could be lots of things

Ill see if i can enlarge that diagram with a few of my programs lol thanks a ton, ill be sure to check the motors out tomm. i just had NO clue where anything is on there related to the washer system, but one ?

If the line was pinched to the rear, wouldnt there still be sound from the motor? I dont hear a thing when its not working and when it kicked back in the other day i did hear noise, so ill check the motor first for sure

btw the front is still working just a bit noisier than i remember, so i would assume they are separate motors for both systems hey?

Yeah there's two pumps. Rear pump is on the right side bottom of the left dia., front pump is on the far right.
The things on the top left and bottom right in the dia. that resemble a spider labeled Z1 are grounds.

well i went out and looked for what i could do in the dark lol i see how to access the res. and the pump area, and still no rear fluid, and the front sounds super whiney, so i guess when i get a chance to remove the wheel well panel to get a better look ill do so, but im leaning towards pump issues for sure...possibly a loose wire or something simple, but with my luck the pump is gone lol

the whine in the front could be my imagination too i suppose, because i never really had a reason to open my door hit the washer and listen to it...lol

There is a tiny hose that comes out of your rear wiper mount and goes out to the end of your wiper, where it sprays. This hose got a small pinhole leak in it and killed my rear sprayer. Got a new piece of hose and all is well.

im pretty sure its not a hose issue, it wasnt leaking or anything before, nor was it spraying in an odd pattern, and its def. not the nozzle, because it dont work even with that disconnected, i just went to use it the other day and it didnt work, the switch is def. good due to the fact that when its depressed for the washer part, the wiper consistantly wipes, but when the spray did come back on after i noticed it wasnt working, i DID hear a hum of the motor....and its out again, and i havnt done anything other than normal dd'ing around so....

On a lighter note, it seems the easiest access to the motors and the "hidden" resovior is by removing the black interior of the wheel well with the little clip pin units, and that was half the problem, finding where it was lol

well as an update i finally had time to tear into my wheel well today and took a good look at the pump system, there are def. two pumps, the top one is for the rear and the bottom one is for the front for anyone that may take a look, anywho the pump is shot, the line is clear, tested it with the front pump, and it def. has power going to it, and by the amount of corrosion on the pump i think its safe to say its shot, so now ill be on a hunt for a new pump and if i find some cheap ill revive the thread and share where they are and how much

same issue on my 2000 Cherokee, the washer fluid has sprayed on the rear window in years, it used to dribble out slowly but has stopped altogether, the front washer fluid has been working and never had any problems, when i removed the back interior panel on the hatch to adjust my lock entry I noticed the hose was coming out of the top (roof) and I ran a test to see if the fluid would at least get to the back, much to my shagrin no fluid came out when i pulled the hoses from the coupling, so basically, no fluid is getting even to the rear, would this be a motor problem?

I would listen for the hum of the pump with the door open and switch held, if theres no hum id say youre good to get access to the fluid bottle, and test the pump wires for power, if it has power my guess is its the same as mine, shot:thumbdown:

Also check the rear spray nozzle for blockage before tearing into the fender, that may be enough to "freeze" up the system

i live in canada know its cold coul my lines be frozen on my 2000 jeep cherokee sports if that is the problem what could i do to fix
