Window swap--with vent to full window without vent

Has anyone done this switch on a 2 door XJ? I'd prefer not to mess with swapping doors, but like the look (and quieter sound) of the full front window vs. the window with small vent window. Not sure if it would be an easy swap, maybe someone on here has tried this. Any advice or success stories?

I'd be interested in this too. I'm in Grass Valley, not far from ya.

I'm pretty sure it can be done, you just need all of the weather strip and stuff from the newer window setup.

I know someone with a full window '97...I'm gonna look at it a little further. I'll keep updated with results.

Are you looking to switch out to full window? I live right up the road in Auburn and am thinking of going to vented windows in my 96.
Interested in a trade?

motors and wiring are way different. newer full window is a push pull setup. kind of a rough swap unless your good with wiring and relays

Mine are manual which I don't mind (meaning I don't want the hassle of converting to power). I'm just wondering about the overall fit. I looked at some fulls tonight and it looks like they would fit. I might pick one up from the JY and mess with it.

It can be done, Just need a the full window mechanics, weather stripping, a good afternoon apiece to do. (All the swearing is optional). Although I've not done it. I have seen other posts here by people that swapped them. I like the wing windows. And as a left handed smoker, I especially like them. When there opened completely back wards, they make the best vehicle vent that's possible.

Too bad your not closer to me. I have a 2dr and the solid triangle piece of glass that i wish could be the vented kind. We could of just traded the triangle glass/vent glass and the little frame around it

why do you want to get rid of it?

I feel like the window opening is too small. I also think the full window looks cleaner than the split. I will do this eventually.

I have only had the Cherokee for 3 weeks and a lift is my first order of business. I am still in the process of gathering parts for that. When that is complete, I'll probably move on to the windows.
