will it work
i have a 87 cherokee with a 4.0 and a wrecked 95 that i just parted out can i use the 4.0 out of the 95 for my 87 is there any difference's in the long block

The long blocks are technically the same but it will not be direct swap since the 95 is a H.O and use's a different injection system compared to your 87 renix's.
So as for the the main parts of the engine i think you can still use it.

The H.O head will bolt directly to older block and the Renix intake will bolt onto the H.O. head. The issue however is that the ports are different on the 2 heads and the Renix intake will not flow well with the H.O. head. It can be done but will not perform at it's peak.
