There are 220A alternators, hell my buddy has a 300A to power his sound system. It's ridiculous. But you are going to have to upgrade your wiring harness. And maybe take yours to a good shop and see if they can redo it first. That way you get rid of any fitment issues.

My point is that to get more amperage for an alternator it must get bigger. The physics will only allow so much to be produced in such a small case alternator. That's why when stepping up to just a 130A GC or Dakota alternator you must clearence the mounting bracket.
I believe this product (the one in the ebay ad) is just like the old days in car audio (or probably current days also) where an amplifier manufacture "inflated" there ratings on their amps to make people believe they had more power than they actually did.
Take note to Mean Green's Jeep alternator, at nearly twice the price. It's a bolt in, but that's because the mounting is moved- they've redesigned the case so that it won't hit the mounting bracket (and I'll be they still want you to clearence it a bit).
And notice how vague they are as to what the actual amp rating is... they just say "up to 300%..." . I've heard a lot of good things about Mean Green, but I'm dissapointed that they don't have a clear rating of continuous output at tempature.
So for a no-name brand to have over 200A that fits in the stock location of a Jeep for only $200- I doubt it. Are there 200A alternators out there, sure there are.

Def you'll need a larger output alt but I've never personally seen over 200 into a Cherokee. They GC would need minor fab for the bracket but I've also heard you can get yours respun for higher amp output, prob a waste of money when we can just get a new one. All I'm saying I wouldn't trust eBay, it's better to get from a reputable company cause you don't want it to break within a year. Happened to a friend he went cheap and it left him stranded on an expressway
