Default Will a 1993 hatch fit a 1998?

Hey guys i found a 1998 xj that spun out and hit a tree in the rear for 500 bucks and the hatch and bumper are garbage. I have a 93 that the framerail is shot on. Can i take the hatch from the 93 and put on the 98? Also when i go look at the 98 tomorrow what should i be looking for on the framerail that may have been damaged any key spots because by the pics it looks like it hit the tree hard because the bumper has the tree dent in it and it almost folded it in half.

I don't think you can, i can't put the hatch off a 95 on my 97, i'm pretty sure they changed hinges and suck on them in 97... not even the lift arms fit between the two years...

Here are the pics.

I think the owner took the pics with a camera phone.

The rear cross member on that one is probably effed up, which would also pull in the frame rails. Personally I would just pass on that one unless you are ready for more than a new bumper and hatch.

There is way more damage there than just a hatch and bumper. The latch pin for the hatch is pushed way in and the rear crossmember and rear cargo area floor pan is totally wrecked. It may be driveable but to get the rear looking good and that hatch working is gonna take a TON of work.

Also 93's had a fiberglass hatch door and i belive 97+ had a sheet metal hatch door.

Give him 300 for it for a parts or trail only rig.
