A wierd one..

Im not sure if this will make sense to you because i cant make anything out of it. when i look at my tires and my body of my jeep from the front or the right it look like the body is siting 2 inches over to the right so the left side the tires stick out more and the right there tucked in. its both the front and rear tires. and it doesn't swing side to side its always 2 inches to the right. any ideas? ill get a picture up soon

The front is most likely caused by the track bar if you have not relocated it or replaced it with an adjustable piece. I have no clue what could cause the rear to be off center.

were you not wearing a sock on your right foot maybe?

best i can get of it with a picture but u can see the front the tires arnt center and same with the back

winston427 Dec 22, 2009 06:27 PM

The back looks fine from that pic and I can't really tell about the front. Did you install the lift? If so, is the track bar still a stock piece in the stock mounting locations?

Gunnar89 Dec 22, 2009 06:37 PM

the back has 3 inch shekels but right now the front is stock highth. its hard to tell on the back cuz i can get a good pic with the tires and body but trust me the backs is doing the same as front. could it just be a odd ball jeep?

Someone else may have another answer for the rear but I can only think of 2 possible causes. Either the shackles have been bent to one side causing the rear axle to be off center, or the centering pins on the leaf springs have been sheered off allowing the axle to shift.

i can see the front and back shifted , you may wanna look for signs if it was ever in a accident , i been a body guy all my life and seen some messed up stuff , you truck may have been t-boned at one time and even if the shackles arent bent , you may have bent mounts , if you have time and/or know someone at a body shop have them set it up on there bench and measure it out , they may need to make some small pulls to get everything back centerd
to look for damage areas , look at the spot welds mainly the rocker panel and quarter panel sections and compare them to each side , check for signs on the bolts and hinges on the doors to see if they look repaired or replaced , look around the quarter glass and check it to the other side to see if maybe it looked replaced , check around all windows and lines in the body for paint tape marks , just look for little obvious signs that dont seem right , maybe pull the inner door panel to see if the color is the same , alot of shops wont cut in the whole door , only what you see when its together , and look at your door gaps to each side , most of the time one side would be tighter and the other side will be more open

Gunnar89 Dec 22, 2009 07:32 PM

that makes more sense than i thought it would lol when i bought it it was missing the hard to find windows on the right side like that fin window and the front vent one.. and the driver side door weld was broken so the door basically on a verge of falling off. and i jacked it up one day using the fender sheet metal cuz i was ina hury and a bunch of bondo shattered off the fender.. so what would i have to do to fix it is thos things are bent or what ever my be wrong. im a little short on money being that i got layed off :(.

DEVILSTOY Dec 22, 2009 07:47 PM

Well being that your wheels are shifted to the passenger side , would mean your truck was hit on that side , where the body would shift to the left , your on the other side of the country but I'll help u as best I can , try to get some pics of the hinges , rockers with doors open and the underside , I'll try to see what's going on from pics , u can post here or pm or email me , lowrlevl@aol.com
