Default who's done the JY Lift? Need some help puting mine together

Ive been doing some scouting on this site and some others...And with Dodge Dakota Leafs and Grand cherokee coils with spacers i can get about 4" of lift.....My question is for those who have done it...does the year/engine size matter for the Dakota leafs?(1991 leafs were used on the site im using as a reference) im going to be obviously looking for the newest set i can get. I know the front coils have to be from a 93-96 V-8 YJ. Now my second ? is how safe and comfortable do spacers ride? should i just spend the money to get the 4" coils?? i dont want to sorry about them poping out or it riding like a Tank. I know i also need longer shocks...Ill get those from RC but how about LCA'S??? What else am i missing? Im a bit of a noob about all this swapability and Lifting. Thanks!!

instead of the ZJ V8 coils up fron you can use old f150 coils (lower 1970's)

if you are going 3" of lift you wont need LCA's, only brakeline extender, and shocks...

ZJ V8 coils will only give you around 2" of lift...

i dont know where he is getting 4" from...unless he is running spacers too...

if it gives me 4" of lift i will need adjustable lower controll arms for correct caster?? anyone know who makes a good set...I have decided on roughcountry 4" shocks. Will i have to worry about my drive shaft coming out? this isnt a trail rig just my highway driver.

if you front pinion angle is off, which at 4" it really shouldn't be too bad, I would get adjustable uppers instead of lowers. I think rustys has them for like 70.00 or something close.

As far as the old ford coils, it will work, but it will not be as nice of a ride. they are a good bit stiffer.

Raising your rig 4" will pull the front axle toward the rear if you use the stock LCA's.

let me get this straight, dakota rear springs will give you 4in lift and s10 springs will give you 2in of lift. correct?

My s10 bastard pack gave me 4in, I've never done a dakota so I can't help with that. We did a xj with ford coils and it works ok but rough rideing.
