Rock Auto has dash mats for about $30 and I was wondering if it helps with anything like heat reflection, or is it just for looks and protection of the dash?

Or does it possibly absorb and retain heat...??? or make the vents less effective if its not lined up perfect?

I think they are just to protect the dash from the sun.
I know this woman from Florida and according to her almost everyone runs one.
Or they have a dash that is beat to death from the sun. LOL.

I have had one on other vehicles. They do a good job of protecting the dash from the sun. On some cars, they do a good job of protecting the driver's eyes from glare reflected off a somewhat shiny dash, at particular times of the day.

I don't feel like an XJ dash produces a lot of glare ... It's small and angled decently. I just want to 1: protect it 2: not make more heat. 3: look awesome when my 1 friend gets in at that special time of the year....

Just kidding. I'm prolly gonna go camo since I've been hunting since I was about 7, did some military time, and I want my daughters to see it and get used to it and start to hunt etc etc ..... Aaaand maybe join the Air Force. But it'll be a hunting camo I use.
But I have camo in the house and we blow duck calls and stuff....

I have one. It was in there when I bought the Jeep.

It's really only still there to cover the cracked up dash until I can replace it.
