I stuffed a 360 in my cherokee but there is no room for a radiator. Ive seen plenty of people take out the back window and put it there but was wondereing if anyone had ever put one laying flat on the roof with some room for air toget through

I never seen it but if ur going to be going through mud beware! Because u will be throwing it up in the air and it will land in ur radiator. The next thing u know ur overheating and in need of a new set of head gaskets or heads. I dont understand how a raditor can be placed in a back window either. Thats 10 feet of raditor house and 15 gallons of coolant. With proper farbrication i'm sure u can make one fit in the front.

I don't get it. The 360 is shorter than the 4.0 inline six. How'd you mount that motor so that you don't have room for a radiator? Maybe you need to consider moving the motor back closer against the firewall.

+1 on pictures or I call BS

The V8 or V6 has to be moved about 4-5 inches forward from where the I6 would be. Those kinds of issues is why I chose to use a V6 instead of a V8

Before you do that, check into getting a shorter water pump etc. Also, take out the front cross member and fab a ZJ style cross member and put in a different radiator forward of where the XJ radiator sits with an electric fan on it. Then it will fit.

I would hate for anyone to call bs on me so I will post some pics monday when I get back home. also the water pump is pretty slim but the timing cover is huge compared to the one on the 4.0. Cutting out the crossmember was my first idea as that would make just enough room, even with the stock fan but with the stearing box in the way it just isnt wide enough between the frame rails for the radiator that goes with the engine. how mutch would a costome radiator cost and where would I get it

Griffin makes them, and they are spendy. Ask me how I know. There are others out there that are a little cheaper though. Just Google custom radiator

your right thats pricey. I dont have that much in the whole project any other ideas
also the problem is not a bigger motor it is a bigger radiator at least twice the size as the one for a 4.0

My Dad had the same problem with his old race truck. We put a 360 into his 87 Dakota (no v8s in 87 dakotas) and had to fab a core support. Also used an electric water pump.
