When he went to check the plugs he smelled antifreeze so he drained the oil then realized it was full of water so he did a pressure test and said the head was cracked badly so replaced that, then since plugs looked bad replaced those too. He thought it was good because just driving around it was fine. But my dad picked it up for me. I'm still out of town. He said it drives great until it gets completely warm then misses often. But doesn't make noise so we aren't sure about the lifters. Since it wasn't missing before the head swap (until you drove for an hour or so), he didn't think it was a cracked head. I'm going home Monday so I'll be able to go talk to him in person and see what he's thinking and try to steer him away from the coil because on other threads it sounds like a lifter problem. And I might notice it more than anyone else since I drive it everyday.
