I always found that craigslist is a good place to look if you have patience. Sometimes you should just wait and not hop on the first thing you find. I know from personal experience with a 89 Dakota, sometimes it's better to wait. I found my Cherokee in someone's driveway. It didn't look like they were using it so I knocked on the door and they were going to donate it to the fire department so they can demonstrate the jaws of life on it! Sheesh! I got it for $400 running and driving like a top...they just didn't use it anymore.

Try the Autotrader.com site.
Yoiu could also check out the local papers classified sections. they are online a lot now.
And my favorite where I got my 98 from (for $700) is Kijiji.
It even has a way to extend how far you want to look for something. It is a slider control for the amount of miles from you to where the ad was posted from.
Try it

Im from RI too, I was looking for about 3 months and found mine on craigslist. I looked in auto books they have at the markets, autotrader, ebay. I found that craigslist is the best, bought my last 2 vehicles that way. Oh yea, stay away from the xjs on rt. 44 in johnston, the guys a liar.

Also try ebay, alot of times people will set the reserve high, it doesnt go for it, you call and off 100 over the highest bid, and you get a new jeep, like i did.
