99 Jeep Cherokee Sport

I need to jack it up. I'm baffled by where the jack points are. I've read other posts and looked in the owner's manual, but it's still not clear to me. Can anyone explain this? Thanks.

I jack it up using a board on the jack and the front and rear diffs housings.
I usually use the front and rear axle tubes for the jack stands.

if you want the suspension to hang, then i would put the jack under the unibody frame rail, and not the pinch weld on the rocker panels, like most cars nowadays. you will likely just crush the rocker panel if you do try.

but if your jeep is a little rusty, like most are at this age, be sure to set the jack on a solid section of frame, or use some wood to spread out the load.

The owner's handbook says to jack it up on the axles, but that is obviously just for changing a wheel for a flat or whatever.
