where are the interior footwell lights located?

I have a 98 2 generation xj cherokee, and I was wanting to replace all the OEM dome lights and footwell lights over to LED. My problem is I can't find a plug or a light bulb under the dash on either side. I'm wondering if either Jeep made some models without the foot lights or if maybe the previous owner took them out. Highly unlikely considering it was a 74 year old man that drove it for USPS, but I'm not sure where else to turn before having to tear out my new headliner and just run my own lights. Can anybody here post pictures or give me details as to where they are? Any help is much appreciated.

I have a 98 and replaced almost all interior lights with led. I tried taking a picture for you. Didn't come out great but should give you an idea. The pic is of the passenger side as you can see the fuse door. The drivers side is about the same place. They have like a white plastic dome over them. I left them off when I installed the LEDs.

If the footwell lights are non-existent, the wire harness and plug are likely still there. Look around the hood release lever for an empty plug. If found, test it with a multi meter and by using headlight switch. The switches operation will show on the multimeter.

My 93 had no footwell lights, but the plugs for them are still there, just go to the junkyard and pull some off a jeep there, and then plug them into the existing harness on your jeep.
