my jeep came with a fire extinguisher mounted in the back cargo areo...pretty sure that its stock

Lots of guys mount them in the little cargo box opening in the back that or by the you feet on the center console

Just remember to mount them in a very accessible spot. It would suck to have your truck burning while you fumble to get the fire extinguisher out of its hiding spot.

i mounted mine behind the drivers seat rite between the center compartment and the back seat. I did so because thats the closest place i could have put it without it getting in my way.

+1 on beside the drivers seat. there's just room to fit one along the floor, between the seat rail and the drivers door.

also, no ones mentioned types - not all extinguishers are equal. I run a Marine (coast guard approved) 3lb ABC extinguisher, which is good for any type of fire.

i was thinking about mounting one on the hatch so when u open up the hatch it is hanging above u so u dont have to digg threw the crap in the back

I carry around 2, mostly for department use, and they are mounted along the rockers in the back seat. When I get on scene and grab my gear, they are right underneath my boots and helmet (which i never don't grab.)

most mud bogs and rock comps require you have it in reaching distance i mounted mine under the cubby hole passenger side

I love the idea of keeping it up high, and very visible..but what sort of a mount did you use to do that safely? I'd be scared of it coming loose in a vehicle-to-vehicle, and taking my head off!!
