What's that clicking noise?

Hey guys, When I turn my wheels in both directions I hear a clicking noise and some what feel it in the steering wheel. I have an idea of what it could be, but not positive. Any suggestions would be great! :turned:

That would be the ujoints on your front axles. Need replacing.
Your probably running the original ones.

Milage?

x2 on the u-joints

could also be a bad track bar bushing / end / wallowed out hole. does it only do it once every time you turn the wheel in one direction, or multiple times?

210k on the miles. I was thinking that may the issue. Last time I worked on any vehicles it always been CV joints. But I know the Cherokee doesn't have CV joints, so I wasn't clear what I would be getting into.

Multiple clicking when turn left or right.

multiple clicking eliminates the track bar.

u-joints are visable in the knuckle. without jacking the truck up just lay down in front of it, grab the yoke on the inner axle shaft and try to wiggle it. if you can, you need to do the u-joints. tend to wear pretty evenly so if you need a left one do the right one too, or youll just have to do it next week.

pretty easy job. brakes off, 3x 12pt 13mm bolts on back of knuckle, slide out hub, remove snap rings, press out u-joints, press in u joints, put in new snap rings, replace hub / axle and brakes, tons of write ups on it.

Thanks! Heading to the store in the morning to get them. They are a bit wiggly. :detective:
