Whats a Bodyshop cost for installing replacement Rocker Panel on '89 XJ
One of the rockers on my '89 XJ is rusting, I ordered a used panel from the Jeep Salvage place I use. Whats the average price a bodyshop would charge for replacing one rocker panel and painting? Its not a DIY job I one to do. Thanks
Passenger side rocker thats rusting, that I'm having replaced. Keeping the girl looking good

I would have the shop check out the rear quarter panels when they do the rocker.
If you have rusty rockers, you're likely to have rust at the bottom of the quarter panels and there's literally nothing between the sheet metal and the inside of your trunk. It looks like you could have rust just under the Jeep at those quarter panels.
I just bondo-ed up mine, but when I was doing the leaf spring replacement I found that I had a lot of rot in the cargo area floors that was due (at least in part) to the water coming up through the quarter panels.
Just my $.02. I'm of the opposite mind - I don't give a hoot about how my Jeep looks cosmetically, lol. However, I'm sure that we're in firm agreement that we care deeply about how our Jeeps work functionally.

I would want to find out what steps the shop will take to prevent the welds they do from rusting on the inside the rocker?
(I am talking about welds in spots where you can not see them once they are done)
It can be done but you would have to request they explain how they do it?

Hopefully it's not too bad - usually the body shop will let you know if they came across something that's going to grossly exceed whatever their original estimate was. Assuming the body shop gave you an estimate on the work, I wouldn't worry too much until the body shop calls to authorize the additional cost.
