Whats the best on road/off road/ towing suspension with no lift?
Basically I have a 93 Cherokee sport 4 liter 4 door that is my daily driver. It had all stock suspension on it. I would like a suspension that is somewhat comfortable on the road, doesn't sag to much when towing. ( a trailer with 2500 lbs of car, tires and tools), and something I can play with off roading a bit with stock height. I realize I can't go on rock or do crazy trails but I would still think there would be fun to be had. I am open to all suspension ideas, just let me know why, also if control arms and track bars and what not need to be changed, that's easy enough, just let me know. I bought bilstein heavy duty shock for front and back (they ca be heighten cheaply and re-valved cheaply, also I am not against going against another brand if something better will work. I was also thinking about going with heavy duty springs in front and heavy duty leaf springs in back. I don't want air bags, but also I don't want the rear end bouncing up and down cause its so stiff I am not 100% against lifting, just not sure I want the bigger tires, worse as mileage, and doing everything possible to prevent the slight chance of the wobbles. Thanks in advance for any help,
Dave

There are LOTS of companys that sell what your looking for. Try "Rough Country, Rubicon express, Old man EMU, Skyjacker...ETC. You can do a 1-1 3/4 BB without sacrificing ride quality...Tj

I looked at those most of what I saw was for lifted, and if that is the route I have to take, I will, but also I need something that work will with towing a decent tongue weight, which I am not sure if the one's you mentioned are good for that, and lastly I would like to just upgrade springs as I am very happy with my bilstein's and most other shocks don't dyno anywhere as close to good as bilstein.

X2 on a budget boost. id try that first and see if your happy with it. if not get a inexpensive rough country lift with your upgraded shocks and you should have a comfortable ride. get ahold of jason at rough country (have to call) and you'll get a 10% forum discount. just dont cheap out and get add-a-leafs or you'll be dealling with a saggy azz in a year, especially with towing...and you dont have to run larger tires on a lift, thats your choice. personally i noticed a 1 MPG difference between the stock tires and rims and my soft 8's and 31's so...worth it to me. and a lift doesnt cause death wobble, it just highlights the parts that are in need of being replaced....and if you were wanting air in the rear look into air shocks. they are made for towing applications to help with the load. bolt into stock shock location and run an air valve to adjust....

i would suggest gettin leaf packs out of a dakota or s10 or blazer and taking out the second leaf of the xj spring pack and replace it with the main spring on the s10 pack something like this... http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...udget_Lift.htm

I just ordered (some if it was already delivered) an Old Man Emu 2 inch lift.
I went on the cheap and only ordered the full rears and front coils. I'll post some picts once it's together of the before and after.
It seems 2 inches may help me avoid having to lower the transfercase, changing shocks, brake lines, low chances of death-wobble. But also will allow me to upgrade slightly to some bigger (cooler!) tires that might actually be capable of dune riding.
Again, picts will be posted within the next few weeks.

Not knowing what your budget is or how high you want to go, I'm going to say pick yourself out a nice 4.5" long arm setup, whatever spring packs come with it, go down to your local spring shop and get an overload leaf for it, soem shackle relocation brackets, Regear to 4.10-4.56, throw some 31-33"s on it and a rear locker of your choice and you should have a pretty decent wheeler, with the regear and the overloads it should tow decent as well.

8 years ago, a guy asks for suggestions for a on/offroad/towing suspension with no lift, and somehow a 4.5" long arm setup seems appropriate?
