How many do you want? I have seven, two tweeters in the dash, two in the front doors, two in the rear hatch, and a sub.

I always run new wire, for my sound systems. I too left in the stock, (Jensen) tweeters in the dash. And used Rockford Fosgates 5 1/4's (full range 3 way) in the front doors, Rockford Fosgates 6x9's (full range 3 way) mounted in the rear hatch. (You can open up the original 5 1/4 holes, to fit 6x9's. and get rid of the speaker boxes.) Instead of looking for a sound bar. Add a sub. I used a R F 10", because it fit better in the rear pocket. And I have a 1400 watt 5 channel amp. powering the speakers. (under the rear seat) Giving me, 250 watts going to each speaker, 400 watts going to the sub. It doesn't pay to power the sub. And not the rest of the speakers. (the bass will over power the head unit driven speakers, as volume goes up). Unless all you want is a bass thumper. I'm very happy with it. It looks like the factory install, with nothing out visible to tempt thieves. It's also nice to have my cargo space back. Although it's probably worth more than the jeep. There's write ups here on the 6x9 install. and the sub install. just have to search for them. Good luck.

yeah i know you can open the rears up but i like the set of speakers i got up front and im going to put them in the back with a 1000w 4 chan amp. subs are another story. im going to end up with 4 15's but theres lots of time before those. first thing though is going to be a simple set of 12's. my cherokee has some rust and i dont want ALL of it to come off lol

Don't plan on using your cargo space, for anything but subs & amp.?

as mentioned. 98 and up has the speakers built in to the headliner. i like how clean those look.
but if you want to add a soundbar, they were separate in 97 xj's and likely most other years down to the early 90's.

but definitely 98 and up for built in as that's what i'm gonna do also.
