What are these plugs for???
I was detailing the jeep earlier (what? detailing a jeep i hear you gasp!) and i came across two connections in the engine bay - not hooked up.
This one is an orange plug which is sealed, located behind the drivers headlight with 3x wires (it resides under the air cleaner box)
The second plug is located near the brake booster (x2 wires)
Anyone have any ideas???

the orange one i am not so sure off, but the black one looks like a factory fog light option. all auto and manual wireing harnesses were the same, and all had the same connections, but on lower models, were just not used.

I am not sure either what the orange one is, but the other looks like a washer pump motor connector.
and it looks like you have one unplugged in the background of that pic

mmm, washer plug motor...maybe, i'll have to check it. I could have knocked it off by mistake
I have factory foglights hooked up, so i know it's not for that. This laredo came pretty much optioned out - hitch, skids, fogs, electrics, chrome everywhere.....just no leather - but i've rectified that from a '95 model, as well as a roof console & headline speakers at the rear Also, i'll be retrofitting the rear seat belts out of a '97 model soon.
But this orange plug has never been used. Still has the dust cover over the connections and it is coming out of the factory harness!

Surprising what happens when you google image "Orange connector cherokee" First image comes up with
If your gauge accurately shows the engine to be overheating and the fan is NOT coming on then the problem can be in the auxilliary fan's temperature sender (located in the driver side radiator tank of factory closed systems), fan relay (near radiator on driver side fender well) or issues with the wiring.
There is also a tiny orange fan diode (below/beside air box) but this rarely gives any problem.

Of course once you add the word diode to the search it brings up this
