Most likely a 27-spline chrysler 8.25. The best way to tell is look at the casing and see if the bottom of the diff is flat or not. A flat diff is a chrysler 8.25, a rounded bottom is a Dana 35.

k.. use google then. type cherokeeforum.com and whatever youre searching for, hit enter and there you go.. Like this: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=...7cf21b103219ea
It usually works better if you type what youre looking for in quotes, like "what rear axle do I have"
Like this:
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=...7cf21b103219ea
See, here you get only 3 returns, all of them from cherokeeforum and all about axle identification.
I always try to post useful information, your question was already anwered. Theres no use in posting the same answer thats already been given...
Have a good night,
Dylan

considering i used the search button beforehand, i think not. The whole reason behind a forum is to ask questions, not look for questions other people asked and MAYBE find what your looking for. Forums are meant to help others find answers to a problem. If everyone just looked with the search button, then there would be no more threads. and btw, close to every thread you see is a repost, so get used to it
