It's a crankcase vacuum hose. It's sucks the pressure out of the crankcase. You can patch it with vacuum line or junkyard it.

Or use another rubber piece hose to reconnect them.

In older cars, the crankcase vent just vented to a pipe usually out the bottom of the car. With EPA regs, it had to be burnt or recycle somehow thus the vent to the intake.

What hose is this?-photo550.jpg well boys, looks like this is made of PVC. like the elbow tube to the valve cover, i bought 7/32 rubber hosing, but the fact that is it rubber makes it too big for the rubber peices that hold it on, gonna boil it and squeeze it together or something. Verify the part, but I believe this is it:

Genuine Chrysler 4854265 Crankcase Vent to Intake Tube Genuine Chrysler 4854265 Crankcase Vent to Intake Tube

$46. Yikes! I think I would just go find one at the boneyard.

Yup that's the right part. I recently replaced mine with that after my dad broke it.

I replaced mine with a piece of copper tubing. Hasn't busted again in 6+ years...

That's not the same part. Here's a pic of the part you mentioned. It's a little different from what's on his 2000.

Here's the correct part on Factory Chrysler Parts (for $46):

I like the copper tube idea, as long as it seals up properly.
