What causes intermittent sputtering at a stop?

My 2015 Jeep Cherokee limited 4X4 has just over 100,000 miles and last week the check engine light came on while driving home and it was definitely misfiring. The code was P0302, misfire in cyl. #2. I replaced spark plugs and cleared the code and haven't had any issues since, however a day or 2 after replacing the spark plugs it sputters intermittently while stopped, in drive with the brake on. Once I take off it is fine. There is no check engine light or code detected with my Innova 3030 OBD2 reader. Any ideas?
Thank you
Ron

Check fuel pressure, air intake valve for cleanliness, and air filter. Those are easy first tests.

gat,
Thank you for the advice. I checked my air filter and it was quite dirty. I replaced it and thought it was solved but the sputtering continued. I went to the dealership and asked a service adviser. He said since my code was misfire cyl #2 and I had replaced the spark plugs I should replace #2 coil. I replaced it and no more sputtering.
