That upper rectangle contained a dash clock if your jeep came with the option, otherwise it was nothing but a sheet of plastic.

The top section had an LCD for a clock, the rest of it was filled with electronics for the clock

Some waggys had an information center panel there, tell you if fluids were in spec

I used it to screw on a clock, I didn't need the warp inverter flux display panel. (never worked anyway).

So since mine doesn't have a clock I can remove it and nothing will be there?

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your flux capacitor is behind it. But if you remove it you will have a hole. Why not leave it?

Go for it. I think its held on by 1 screw in top and 1 in bottom

I believe "the elders" intended it to be part of a greater whole.

Are those USB ports?
