Could be a NP241 roc-trac from a Ruby. If so you got a steal on it. If it is a 241 it will be a 4.1 low range reduction. Either way it is a SYE. There would not be a dual cardan joint on the yoke if it wasn't one. GREAT FIND, I will give you $50 for it!! HA HA HA!!! Let the bidding begin!!

Looks like a 231 to me - possibly pre speed sensor - old style cable drive speedo mount. The transfer case # is on that red/silver tag - top number

This came out of the same jeep I bought the axles out of, They were 456''s. I went to pick up the axles and this was laying by them. I asked him if it was for sale and he said $40.00. So I ended up with 456 front and rear and transfer and driveshafts for $150.00. Sometimes you just get lucky. It is a 231j and came out of a 89 yj.
