Angry well, it wasnt the tps...

F. F. F. F. F... ok... ive replaced...

>plugs/wires
>cap/rotor
>just today the TPS
>ran sea foam in gas... twice...
HAVENT PERSONALLY...
>looked at injectors, throttle body
>dropped and cleaned the tank/sock
>blew all the lines out
BUT IT HAS BEEN DONE, VERY RECENTLY.

i just did the TPS tonight. i did it all by myself!!!... well, we all start somewhere, right?... im still new to this... everything seemed to go smoothly upon the install... except...

>idle was sporadic- jumpimg to 3k RPM, and not dropping till i unglugged the TPS, whereupon, it would go to normal idle. so i fooled with whatever was just too the left of the TPS, another assembly that when, unplugged and uninstalled, had a plastic cylinder that actuated up and down to reveal a small metal rod... if you have any clue what im talking about, i could clearly use some help here. i knocked some of the crap off with my hands and breath... and reassembled it, took it for a spin, and it ran much better; idled and responded well... i parked it for an hour or so and when i took off again, it started to act up again... is it an injector, my fuel pump?? im lost on this one...

also, im pretty sure the pump was tested, but there was no issue. this bastard is so sporadic, though, it might not have been acting up at the time?

It is likely the IAC (idle air control valve). When mine went bad (stuck open), the idle jumped to 2500 RPM and stayed there until I replaced it.

Just a question what would the coil have to do with the idle? X2 on the iac.

is this possibly the item i had no idea what it was, but i was still messing with it? if you were standing at the front of the jeep, it would be on the left side of the throttle body. its a little bigger than the TPS assembly.

I say coil cause if the points ware the vibration can cause a missfire its just a thought. that the cps and computer are the only things i can think of left. Besides a wire short witch i dont think it is. he has tryed about every thing else.
