Weather proofing parts question - XJ 1987
Hey gang, I'm looking to weatherproof my windows because the window scrapers are in a really poor state as shown below.
Front driver door (same state on the passenger side): https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...9836e82516.jpg Rear driver side window (same state on passenger side): https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...25090449ff.jpg My current window configuration is as shown here: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...d8b0517004.jpg So... I've been looking in RockAuto and I could not be more confused. Should I be getting 2 of these (one for the back and one for the front): https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=12406&jsn=651 I think the smoker window is throwing me off. I've also seen a few YouTubers that use the window scrapers and others that use just the squeegee like seal instead. Thank you as always! |
Just did my comanche and those seem to be the right ones for the front doors beltline. Easy to replace too. The window track one is trickier since you have to take the whole door apart but still only takes 40 minutes or so to do them all.
I don't know where to get seals for the cigarette window, I just put in a whole fresh one from a donor while rebuilding the rest of the door. Also did door checks while I was in there. The pita one is the door to body gasket, since all the interior trim has to come off to get the new gasket on. I used precision DK611084 |
Hicks is correct there is no replacement for the vent windows. You need to find a good donor or put in fixed glass from a donor.
