Water temp gauge only goes up to 125?
I have a 1994 jeep Cherokee xj 4.0, it's right hand drive, made either in or for Japan. Not sure how things went down back then with Chrysler, I replaced the Tstat, but it still get hot when I'm sitting at a light, Thinking it might be the water pump but I'm just diving into this stuff, is there anything else I might need to check. I think it's a sport model but unsure, no owners manual, I gave the mechanic enough to fix some heavier issues, lol it's all me now, please help oh and the water gauge only goes up to 125, Is it supposed to go over 200?

Is the temp gauge in metric. If the top end is 125C then that is about 260F where the imperial tops out at.

The temp gauge on my 94 only went up to 125 also. That's how I figured out it came from Canada. One day at the jy I picked up an imperial temperature gauge off another xj so it looks like an American jeep now. :)
Also my oil pressure gauge wasn't in psi, it was in BAR. Kinda weird... |

What temp were you running with the metric gauge?

Yep. What's important is the relative position of the needle.
