Default Water leak problems

Hi guys, so for a while I've had a horrible water leak that starts somewhere after water enters the heater cowl vent on the hood. We've had a lot of rain and i haven't driven it in about a month. So my poor jeep is falling apart from moisture. My headliner is sagging, my windows and locks are intermittently working, my alarm system fried, my abs light on the dash stays on, my heater/AC/air fan won't turn on all the time, my turn signals don't work but my 4 way flashers do......... Where should I start.... I ran it for 2 hours with the heater on high and windows cracked (but I think for at least an hour the heater fan wouldn't turn on) but the turn signals started working at least. Oh and the water leaks down to the drivers floor. I've pulled the floor mats out. Everything is covered in moisture from the dash exterior to the seats. I dried the carpet up but I'm worried about the rust I'll prob find on the floor...

Where would you guys reccomend I start in restoring its glory. I don't have the money or a garage / enough indoor room to fix the headliner... So I'm thinking about taking it out completely.

If the headliner is wet, then water is most likely getting in from windshield. The seal is on its way out, rust probably forming on the pinch weld.

The cowl leak is still possible and there are threads on this forum on how to fix.

You can check the windshield by having someone outside spray the garden hose on the top of the windshield and see what/where gets in.

Good luck.

No the windshield is fine, its the interior moisture that's trying to evaporate into the ceiling thats making the headliner, seats, dash, interior electrical components wet.

I recently pulled up the passenger side carpet, and used a razor paint scraper to remove the insulation/padding from the bottom of the carpet. The carpet itself doesn't hold the water, its more the padding. Once the padding is out, it was easy to mop up the leaked water and it(the carpet) dried out quicker.

My problem is somewhere along the passenger kick panel and the water is only on passenger side. Sorry to hear the moisture is a rolling sauna for yours. Both sides? Front and rear?

I've been working on the water on the passenger floor problem as well. So far, I've narrowed it down to two locations after extensive garden hose testing.

1 - The foam seal between the heater core body and the firewall. Specifically the section right where the blower motor bolts in underneath the windshield washer fluid tank. My temp fix is to park pointed down hill, which seems to help. My long term plan is to soak the area with flowable silicone sealant.

2 - The rubber washer thing where the antenna cable comes through the side of the passenger foot well. If you remove the right lower kick panel and look through the tangle of wires, you will see it. My plan is to RTV it once it stops raining outside.

Hope this helps.
