want to add more lift, whats the best way?
I got a '94 XJ, with the zone AAL 3" kit installed. This spring I plan on installing a ford 8.8 in the rear. I would like to have around 4.5" of lift. Would it be better to get the 4.5" full leaf pack, and then add spacers to the front? I'm going to do the SYE kit as well.
What do you guys think? And what brands do you guys think are reasonable price, yet good quality?
Thanks,
J

personally i would never get anything other than a full leaf pack.
especially since youre already running an AAL package, I wouldnt try to add more or anything.
youre running heavier tires and a heavier axle, so take the extra initiative to get a solid rear suspension for it.
just my opinion!

you could get some 3" leafs then some 1.5" shackles then 1.5" pucks up front or drop the AAL and get a full 4.5" lift kit springs and all
1.5" budget boost shackle/spacer is $100 at Rusty's

So, I was looking at the rustys leaf packs. I did notice that with thier 4.5" kit, they give you the option of either getting a 4.5" full pack or a 3.5" full pack and 1.5" shackles. Now, wouldn't that make a total of 5"? I'm having a hard time figureing out how to keep my XJ level. I'm thinking of keeping my 3" front springs and adding 1.75" spacers, then getting the 3.5" full packs with the 1.5" shackles. But, would this this make the front lower?
Let me know what you guys think?
Thanks,
J

Ok, so now my next question.....
I'm going to put a ford 8.8 in the rear this spring, I know I have some work ahead of me, but could I angle the 8.8 when I weld the leaf perches on, and not have do a SYE?
as of now, I think I'll go with the 3.5" full leaf pack, and 1.5" shackles, and 1.75" spacers up front. I was looking at rustys, I know there's ton of threads about them, but anyone have any personnal experience with them?
Thanks,
J

ur gunna wanna angle the rear end with or without a sye. the sye helps more with the angle of the t case to the driveshaft. even with the sye u will have to correct the angle at the pinion. u could weld the axleat the angle u want which is ideal or u could just use degree shims. i dont hav any experience with rustys personally
