Wagoneer Front Nose Conversion
well, the title says what i am looking into doing. i've always liked the quad-headlight look on the Wagoneers, and at some point this summer i want to change the stock nose on my XJ to that trim option. from my understanding, the Wagoneer was basically an XJ with the wood trim, different nose panel, and other random doo-dads from the factory. part of my problem is i can't find any information about the headlight set up when doing the conversion. i know the side markers are exactly the same, but the upper and lower headlights i'm unsure of. i believe the top headlight will have the same plugs as the standard XJ headlamp, but the lower one i believe is totally different. if anybody has some knowledge of this, and even links for parts, it would greatly be appreciated!
so some of you guys (and gals) can get an idea of what i am looking at doing, here is a picture of a 1990 Wagoneer with the quad-head lamp:
but of course i am not going to do the wood trim. i plan on painting my XJ flat black. the goal is to make this thing look like as menacing as possible.

I'm looking at doing the same thing with a '96 Cherokee Sport I'm buying tomorrow. I really hate the black grill because i'm used to my laredo with the chrome grill. Anyway, I'm sure the lights have different plugs as they are sealed beams. If I were you, I'd just run splices off the factory harness, then run the splices to the lower lights where you could just attach the wires to the prongs by whatever method you want (i'd just solder it and get r done), if you're looking to do it the right way, get a new set of harnesses from the junk yard and run the splices to those. Now I'm not sure if both sets of lamps are your low/high beams, so if you try this method you might be driving with your brights on all the time. If this is the case, go and grab the harnesses and the switch from the wagoneer you find in the junk yard, then everything is sure to work properly.

Hate to bring back a dead post but... I picked up a Wagoneer front end this weekend and wondering if anyone on here has done the coversion. I would love to get the wiring figured out before I tear my front end off.

Done, that was easy. As long as you get the whole wiring run for the headlights it's purely a bolt on swap. I still need to paint the chrome black and color match it to the body. But it's on and working.
Thanks for all the replies.

I did end up finding a few things about HID for these clips..housings are about 120 shipped. Or XJrunner, he just cut open a sealed beam and reto fitted a HID!
Anyway, I just put my high beams on the top spot and lows on the bottom, normally highs are on the bottom and lows uptop..at least mine was that way. So I flipped them, and wired it up so all 4 lights come on at once, and then made a HD harness for it!
Basically I made a jumper, from the positive post on the lows to the positive on the highs. I then added a power wire from the back of the Alternator to the positive of the high/low..
If you want to check your lights..grab a 2-3ft piece of 10gauge wire. Touch the positive battery terminal and the positive headlight terminal! My output is alot lot better and I have all 4 headlights lit up..
Only issue is, you lose your "brights"..but that wasn't an issue for me.
