Wagoneer Axles
I'm at work, and my boss wants me to order him some TA Performance Differential Covers today for is '87 Grand Wagoneer. Unfortunately, his Jeep is sitting about 650 miles away from here, and no pictures. All he knows is that as of right now, its completely stock, and it came with a 360 V8 in it. I'm assuming Dana 44's in the front and rear... anyone want to back me up on this? Also, if it is Dana 44 in the front, would the cover be the same one they sell for the rear? TA doesn't seem to sell front covers.

front 44's had a thicker cover than the rears. so if you can, order 2 fronts.
however, aftermarkets should be thick anyways.

They are relatively close in strength.. JP had an article a few years ago.. and IIRC the Model 20 and the 44 were VERY close...
The 87 Grand Wagoneer would have the 1 piece axle shafts which were the weak point of the CJ D-44's... Also by 87 the 5.9(360) was the only engine choice for the big Waggy.
