VSS and Tach wires under hood.. where are they?
Hi there guy's, I'm about to install my Audiovox cruise control in my 01 Cherokee, and wanted to know if anyone knew which wires under the hood were the VSS and Tach wires to break into for the servo. I possibly will make a tutorial for installing this since I can't seem to find a complete one for Cherokees like there is for Miatas

Do you know if there is a particular wire in that cluster than contains the VSS wire? I found a pic that shows "get the VSS and Tach wires from here" pointing to the wire harness on the drivers side of the engine compartment, but not mentioning which specific wires are what

The tach signal is carried from the PCM to the gauge cluster via the CCD Buss, this is a propriatary system by Diamler-Chrysler. The same two wires carry all of the gauge cluster info, with the exception of the fuel level.

Ahhhh okay... maybe this is why I like my 1969 better lol...I don't like computerized junk in cars... so is there not a specific "tach wire" to break into?

Hi there ! you can find vehicle speed sensor signal in the pcm C2 connector (middle plug , white one) cavity 27 it is white with an oarange tracer. tha tach signal (I think this will work) would be in the same connector cavity 9 dark blu with a tan tracer. If that won't work for a tach reference try the neg side of a fuel inj, same connector again white w/ dark blue tracer cavity #4.
Good luck!
