Very High Idle

Very High Idle
I left my '87 sit for a week without being started, and when I started it up today after work it wanted to idle at about 2.2k RPM. I let it run for 45-50 seconds to see if it would go down but it didn't and I was afraid I might damage the engine. Any idea why this would be?

My 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic was idling at 1000 to 1500 rpm today. I lubricated the throttle cable and the linkage it was attached to, took a 15 minute nap and when I started it up later it was idling around 800 RPM, much better.
