Default Valve cover gasket

My valve cover is leaking some oil and apparently has been awhile(the whole rear of the motor above oil filter is caked with grime) so I'm going to replace the valve cover gasket and was wondering if there was a certain torque to the bolts and an order to remove/replace?

they are also $50 as opposed to $5 but I guess you get what you pay for. I used the cork one for the moment just b/c I was unsure of how my engine was going to run once I got it all together and didnt want to have a bunch of coin tied up in gaskets and stuff if I was gonna have to pull it back down
