Valve Cover
Hey everyone, my name is Erick. I just registered not too long ago. Im always browsing around here for information.
So its always helpful to read everyones comments and different situations. I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4.0 I6 That I am planning to do a lot to, the goal is to have it running good before I put on a 4.5 inch lift. I have alot of questions but ill start off with a basic one, I don't know too much about Jeeps so I'm hoping I can learn alot here. :) Question: On the valve cover, there are 2 elbows that connect to the valve cover. I know the one at the front of the engine is the PCV, but I was wondering what the second one is, the one towards the back??? |
Actually, it has a CCV system and doesn't use a valve.
Both of those fittings are "valveless". and, welcome!!!! |
So if I were to replace those to fittings, what are the names to those so I can look them up online and by them???
|
You can find them by searching for "Cherokee CCV". Or you can buy them locally at the auto parts store, either with the emissions hoses, etc., or just ask the cashier. The brand and part # should be all they need.
Front CCV - Dorman 47079 (black, large orifice on bottom) Rear CCV - Dorman 47027 (grey, small orifice on bottom) Grommets - Dorman 42344 The rubber hoses can be found in Dorman 47128 and Dorman 47123, should you need them. I replaced all but the hoses when doing the valve cover gasket, which btw is Felpro VS50458R. Should you decide to replace that, the gasket comes with the little rubber grommets, but not the metal washers, so dont throw yours away. |
Thank you so much for your help!!
